Vintage Stamps
Some years ago I was fortunate enough to come across some information about where to get US vintage stamps on a forum I was frequenting.
Since then I have had several snail mailers ask me where I get them. They are Face Value postage stamps (FV). Yes, I hear you can get them on ebay, but sometimes you pay slightly higher than the face value, depending on the stamp. And I feel it takes more time to do it that way compared to how I buy them.
His name is Murph. Short for Murphy. I was curious about him so I asked if I could have a phone interview and he was kind enough to grant me one.
Murph is a military man who collects stamps. He's been buying stamp collections for years. Doing this means he gets quite a lot of the same stamp.
Years ago, he discovered that the Boy Scouts had a 'Stamp Collecting Merit Badge'. This requires stamps, which he had plenty of, so he helped the Boy Scouts earn their badges by selling them at their face value. As people began using more and more email, his name has been passed around as a good source among snail mailers.
Murph is simple. He doesn't fuss. He doesn't do 'online'. He doesn't do electronic purchasing. Period. But he does do Stamps, and you're going to love having a go-to guy for great US FV Vintage stamps!
This is how to place your order.
1. eMail Murph the following:
-Mail out to:
SOME of the subjects you specified, and some you did not.
It's a bit of a surprise based on what he has available
at the time.
-I've never had a bad batch of stamps. Most are favorites,
while others are great to make your outgoing mail unique
and not common!
